I offer one or two hour lessons driving in and around Bury St Edmunds (as you will do in your driving test). I recommend that, where possible, you take a minimum of one and half hours training each week, as this increases the rate of learning and your confidence grows faster! Also you will be prepared for your practical test a lot quicker too!
See below for information about semi-intensive lessons and Pass Plus lessons in Bury St. Edmunds; also for information relating to mature drivers or for those with learning difficulties.
I use the most up-to-date teaching methods and techniques and provide individually-designed and well-structured courses for pupils.
My easy-to-understand diagrams simplify the learning process and I teach most theory during real driving so that you will not spend unnecessary time sitting at the side of the road doing theory training.
You will get to drive from day one.
I offer flexible pick-up and drop-off points within the Bury St Edmunds, Ixworth and Stanton areas - to/from home, college or a friend's house. In all cases, the bulk of your driving lesson will cover the roads in and around Bury St Edmunds as these are the roads that will be covered in your driving test.
Note: for students who do not live close to town (for example those who live in Stanton, Ixworth, Elmswell or Woolpit), it is often best begin or end some driving lessons in Bury St Edmunds (I can meet you at your school, college or the shops) so that a greater percentage of your lesson is spent driving on the type of roads that you will encounter in your test.
You will drive a new car which has great visibility throughout (thus making reversing easier). As the car is light and easy to manoeuvre, it can help to reduce the number of driving lessons needed.
My car has many safety features including dual controls, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners. The car is always maintained to a very high standard.
It is a very comfortable car to drive with air-conditioning, a height-adjustable driver's seat and also a steering column that can be adjusted.
£24-00 per hour or £230.00 for 10 hours.
Some driving schools will entice you in with a special offer then hike the prices up further down the line. I offer a fair pricing system throughout your driving course with no hidden costs.
Semi-intensive driving courses are available for those who want to move forward more quickly. Semi-intensive driving courses range from 3-6 hours of lessons per week dependent upon customer needs and availability. Lessons can be paid for in blocks. Ideal for those people who just want to get on with it!
I am licensed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) to offer Pass Plus lessons. Pass Plus is a driving course designed by the DSA to help new drivers anticipate, plan for and deal with all kinds of driving hazards, thus helping them to become a better and safer driver.
I cover all six modules of the Pass Plus course - driving in town, on rural roads, on dual carriageways, on motorways, at night and in all weathers. Pass Plus generally takes six hours.
Starting to drive later on in life is a fairly big decision; perhaps in the past you've not felt the need to drive under your own steam. Perhaps something significant has happened in your life that has spurred you on to make the vital decision of learning to drive.
At HiLL's-Start Driving School, I have always taken the view that it's never too late to take your own independence into your own hands.
I'll give you the time, patience and confidence you need in moving forward to pass your test and opening the path to give you the freedom to see friends and family, or maybe visit the places you've always wanted to see, both locally in the Bury St Edmunds area or elsewhere in the UK or even Europe. The possibilities are vast.
So go on...what are you waiting for? The time is now, the time is here, you clicked on this page to find out more, now the next step is to speak to me and start your driving lessons in Bury St Edmunds.
Learning difficulties should not stop you from learning to drive. It is however, very important you find the right driving instructor. Finding an instructor who has the necessary temperament and skills to teach pupils with learning difficulties is not easy. Over the years, I have helped many pupils in the Bury St Edmunds area to reach their driving goals and find their independence through being able to drive safely.
My aim is to find a way that you learn, not the way that someone else wants you to learn. Sometimes slight adjustments in the lesson plan can make a huge difference to your progress.
